L’AZUR - HOMMAGE À MALLARMÉ

Images of the event of June 17th 2012

June 17th 2012

8 pm Sale Apollinee  Teatro La Fenice

Collaborations: Teatro La Fenice, Ateneo Veneto, Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia, Juilliard School New York, New York University

“L’azur” gives scenic form to some of the most visionary intuitions of Mallarmé, whose utopia, in Le Livre, dreams of an ideal fusion of the artistic languages. The spectacle represents a possible dramaturgy of this astonishing unfinished work, through a free plot of Mallarmé's writings and poems recited by Elena Bucci. The relations between voice, song and instrumental sound are explored by musical works, expressly commissioned. In consideration of the influence exerted by Le Livre  on the  postwebernism and the American culture, the Plurimo Ensemble inserted in the programme works of young Italian and American composers, thanks to the precious collaboration of the Composition Departments of the New York University and the Juilliard School. The contribution of the students of the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia highlights the subtle connections with the impressionist and the contemporary figurative art.
